A 30-day test of posting one AI-generated image a day to LinkedIn that did not work: 1,709 impressions and 49 followers
A newsletter writer posted a ChatGPT-made image with a newsletter summary to LinkedIn every day for 30 days and reports poor reach, while one post offering free resources to a group did far better.

The business problem
A creator wants to know whether daily AI-generated images are a cheap way to grow a LinkedIn audience for a newsletter.
What was tried
Use a fixed image prompt for vertical images with no people or faces and a footer with the newsletter address, changing only the on-image text. Post one image a day for 30 days at the same hour with a summary of a newsletter post under LinkedIn's length limit and a link where possible. Tally impressions, likes and new followers by hand at the end. Compare against other posts, such as one offering free resources to subscribers shared in relevant groups.
What was reported (failed)
After 30 days the account had about 1,709 impressions, 40 likes and 49 followers. The author calls this very bad and suspects the AI imagery. A separate free-resources post shared in groups reached 4,959 impressions in one group.
Limitations
Counted by hand with no screenshot, no baseline and no control group, over a short window on one account in one niche. Other posts in the same period could have affected the numbers, and the best-performing post differed in format and audience, so it is not a clean comparison. The author acknowledges other causes and plans to test non-AI images. No alt text was added to the images. The author offers content and ghostwriting services.
What you need
A ChatGPT account for images and a LinkedIn profile. Thirty days of daily posting.
