Build a podcast second brain: snip episodes in Snipd, sync to a notes vault and draft from it with Claude Code

A recap of how a newsletter writer feeds podcast clips into an Obsidian-style vault that a Claude Code agent reads when drafting articles and newsletter posts.

Evidence: The author reports this. We have not checked it beyond reading the source.

The business problem

Ideas from podcasts are heard once and forgotten, so they never reach the writing a creator publishes.

What was tried

The writer follows specific guests, uses the Snipd podcast app to snip moments with an AI-determined context, transcript and speaker, and syncs starred clips to a notes vault. Claude Code reads the vault when drafting and searching. Outside content such as audiobooks, YouTube and articles is converted to audio so it enters the same pipeline, and a custom skill turns articles into MP3 with ElevenLabs and publishes them to a personal RSS feed. The author suggests a one-week trial: install Snipd, follow three guests, star clips, sync, and point Claude Code at the vault.

What was reported (not reported)

The vault holds about 11,000 notes, many from podcasts, but no output, quality or time-saving results are reported.

Limitations

This is a recap of a conversation, not a tested guide, and the author had not used Snipd much. No pricing, accuracy of clipping or transcripts, copyright terms for clipping audio, or exact configuration are given. AI video costs are described as significant, about $5 a minute through an API, though not tied to this workflow. The writer's own claims about publications are not verified.

What you need

The Snipd app, an Obsidian or Notion vault, and Claude Code. Costs for ElevenLabs and the RSS setup are not stated.
