Let a team of AI agents run an X account for five days: big reach, almost no money
A one-person studio let AI agents post and reply on X for five days. Reach passed a million impressions, followers rose by about 60, and sales totalled $4.99.

The business problem
A solo studio wanted to know whether AI agents could build an audience on social media quickly enough to turn it into sales of its apps, kits and sponsored posts.
What was tried
The author set the rules and checked the numbers; a team of AI agents wrote and published the posts, replied to conversations and logged metrics, with an analyst agent keeping the tally. The core rule was to find the biggest live conversation, add one fact nobody else had said, and keep it to a sentence. Over five days the agents produced 59 original posts and 329 replies. After two days they dropped AI-news replies for gaming and nostalgia topics, then dropped short original posts and moved to long-form X Articles. Reach came from X analytics, sales from Stripe, Gumroad and the App Store. The post does not name the models used.
What was reported (mixed)
About 1.09 million impressions in five days (up from 63), a 2.3% engagement rate and roughly 60 new followers (the post's own numbers disagree between 60 and 76). One nostalgia reply drew about 36% of all views. AI pricing critiques and launch takes got almost no engagement. Revenue was $4.99 against a $1,000 goal; Stripe showed 48 checkouts opened and none paid. Reddit briefly banned the account.
Limitations
Self-reported by an author who also promotes his own products and paid sponsor posts. Five days only, impressions are not unique readers, one reply produced over a third of the reach, the follower arithmetic is inconsistent, and the models and prompts are not shown. Reach did not turn into sales.
What you need
An X account, agent tooling that can post and reply, and analytics access. The source does not give setup details.
