Rebuild a company website in about three weeks with Claude for planning and design and Claude Code for the build

A marketer used Claude to plan and design each page and Claude Code to build and update a hard-coded company site himself, alongside his regular job.

The business problem

A website rebuild would have taken a staff member for months or needed a contractor, so it kept being deferred.

What was tried

Use Claude chat to research and plan the site. Use Claude's design capability to create each page. Use Claude Code to build the site as hard-coded pages, and keep a Claude Code chat window linked to the project so updates can be made from anywhere by prompt. A second routine records meeting audio, uploads it to a Claude Project that knows the attendees and the write-up structure, and returns a summary, who said what, and action points.

What was reported (positive)

The new site took just over three weeks, alongside his regular duties, and the company stopped paying for the previous Webflow plan. He says it saved time and improved campaign performance and revenue but gives no figures.

Limitations

An interview in a curated series with no metrics, and the site's performance was unmeasured at the time of the interview. The author is an openly enthusiastic Claude user. Maintaining a site through a single chat window ties it to one tool, and hard-coded pages suit someone comfortable reviewing code. He also worries that paid tiers could widen the gap between people who use AI well and those who cannot afford it.

What you need

A Claude plan that includes Claude Code, hosting for the site, and some ability to review what the model builds.
