Replace three transactional emails with a behaviour-triggered lifecycle sequence planned and built by Claude Code agents

A developer says a SaaS with only welcome, reset and receipt emails lost users after a day, and a Claude Code command planned and built six lifecycle sequences that check app state between sends.

Evidence: The author reports this. We have not checked it beyond reading the source.

The business problem

A launched SaaS had trial-to-paid conversion of about 8 to 12% because the only emails were welcome, password reset and payment receipt.

What was tried

A custom command ran in two phases. In the design phase an agent produced an email brief and a 17-email plan which the author approved. In the build phase six agents built shared layouts and six sequences in parallel: welcome, activation nudge, feature education, upgrade prompt, churn prevention and win-back. Templates are React components, background jobs wait for specific user events, each sequence checks the database before the next send and stops if the user already upgraded, win-back copy uses loss framing, and triggers use events the app already fires.

What was reported (positive)

The author reports trial-to-paid conversion rising from 12% to 22% over six weeks and monthly churn falling from 8% to 4.8%, with lower support volume that was not quantified.

Limitations

There is no control group, so the lift cannot be credited to the emails alone. The starting conversion is given as 8% in one place and 12% in another, cohort sizes, pricing and open and unsubscribe rates are missing, and the research statistics cited have no sources. The author sells the tool that contains this command, so the post is promotional. The page does not show a year.

What you need

A SaaS with event hooks and a background job system, Claude Code, and a transactional email provider. Costs are not stated.
