Research each prospect before a discovery call with Claude, and keep outreach and trust-building steps human
A sales leader who helps technical B2B founders pastes a prospect's name, company and website into Claude before a call to prepare, links Claude to Notion and Gmail, and avoids automated outreach.

The business problem
A founder selling to technical buyers goes into discovery calls under-prepared, and automated outreach is easy for recipients to spot.
What was tried
Before a call, paste the prospect's name, company details and website into Claude and ask what challenges the company might face, using a prompt built around your own sales framework. Follow up in the same chat on the industry, relevant investors and similar companies nearby. Connect Claude to tools such as Notion and Gmail so it can move information between them and draft follow-ups. Automate meeting summaries, follow-up summaries and metric analysis such as click rates. Keep discovery calls and first sales meetings human-led, and avoid automated outreach. When starting a new sales role, map the current process and check what automation your CRM already has before adding AI tools.
What was reported (positive)
He reports mainly time savings, better-prepared discovery calls and sharper qualification of meetings. He expects a shorter sales cycle but has not measured one.
Limitations
An interview in a curated series with no metrics. The $100 million in revenue in the headline comes from a company he worked with in a corporate role, not from this workflow. He says he is still working out which AI use gives outsized returns, his industry knowledge is strongest in oil and gas so research in other sectors needs more learning, and his view that AI will not cut sales headcount is a prediction.
What you need
A Claude account, connections to your notes and email, and a defined sales framework to build prompts around.
