Scrape competitor reviews weekly into Sheets and have ChatGPT or Claude turn them into messaging, positioning and a content plan
A vendor post in first person describes scraping G2 and Capterra reviews on a schedule, pasting them into ChatGPT or Claude with prompt templates, and sorting what comes back into messaging, features, segments and content.

The business problem
Reading competitor reviews by hand takes weeks, so positioning and content decisions get made without it.
What was tried
Use a prebuilt scraper for Capterra and a custom one for G2, run a weekly bulk job over a spreadsheet of competitor review URLs, and send results to Google Sheets. Paste batches of reviews into ChatGPT or Claude with prompts that ask for messaging themes, positioning gaps, content ideas and persona mismatches. Sort findings into messaging, features, segments, content and competitive intelligence in Airtable, with Slack alerts on notable reviews. Turn the output into messaging guidelines, a content calendar and a 30-day rollout plan, reviewed quarterly.
What was reported (positive)
The post says setup dropped from about a month of manual work to about 15 minutes, and credits the changes with a 40 percent conversion lift, 300 percent more organic traffic in three months and a 25 percent win-rate gain. None of these has a baseline or method.
Limitations
Published by the company that sells the scraping tool and ends with a free-trial call to action. The result figures are anecdotal with no baseline, and the post does not separate the effect of review mining from other changes. It reports no costs and no failed experiments. It names fake reviews, information overload and generic reviews as risks, and reviews only cover customers who choose to write one. The opening character is illustrative.
What you need
A scraping tool or manual exports, a spreadsheet, an AI assistant, and the competitor review URLs. The vendor's tool is paid beyond a free tier.
