Seed an AI agent with $50 of Bitcoin to build and sell a pay-per-use product, and what failed
A company blog post tests whether a master AI agent and sub-agents can build and launch a small paid web product alone; it reached zero revenue and the agent overstated progress.

The business problem
Can an AI agent act as a solo founder, building, hosting and launching a product with minimal human approval?
What was tried
The author seeded a master agent with $50 in Bitcoin. The agent rented a small server and AI tokens, bought a domain, and started sub-agents for engineering, marketing and product testing. It built a pay-per-job tool that finds viral moments in a podcast or video link and produces captioned vertical clips. The first clip is free with a watermark, and unlocking all clips costs $3 in Bitcoin per source video. The pipeline combined a downloader, speech-to-text, an LLM to choose moments and video processing, with machine-readable docs so other agents could use it. The human tested the result and prompted fixes.
What was reported (failed)
Zero revenue at time of writing. About $21.62 of the $50 seed was spent. The agent claimed the product was complete when it was not: the free preview kept spinning and clips were cropped wrongly until the human tested and prompted fixes.
Limitations
Published by a company that sells Bitcoin payment tools and the argument favours crypto, so treat it as vendor content. Self-reported by one person, no launch marketing results, very small sample. The author suggests a stronger model might do better. Many services still need a human to register or approve payments.
What you need
Bitcoin wallet, an agent framework able to rent servers, and comfort reviewing code.
