Set up Hermes Agent on a cheap VPS with Telegram, morning cron briefings and a reusable content research skill
A 14-day test of Hermes Agent on a small VPS, reached through Telegram, with memory files, a daily and weekly briefing, and custom skills for content research.

The business problem
A content-led business needs a steady flow of topic research and briefs, but re-explaining context to a chat assistant each time wastes minutes.
What was tried
Deploy Hermes Agent with the host's one-click Docker template and connect it to Telegram through BotFather. Write three memory files for personality, work rules and personal facts. Schedule a daily 8 AM tech briefing and a Monday recap of new AI tools, and let the agent shift them toward your topics. Teach it a content research workflow (trends, analysis, angles, brief) until it becomes a skill, and use cheaper models for routine runs and a stronger model for hard tasks.
What was reported (positive)
The author says a 15-minute research routine became a single command by day 14, memory saved 5 to 10 minutes of re-explaining per conversation, and automated reports save 2 to 3 hours a week. Usage cost about $12 over the 14 days.
Limitations
The post is published by a company that sells Hermes implementation services and has no named author. Savings are the author's own estimates, with no measurement. The author says day-one output was generic ('starts worse than ChatGPT'), it needs two to three days of teaching, replies take 3 to 20 seconds, skills do not always carry over to cheaper models, and light users will not generate enough data to benefit. The post does not say whether the hosting recommendation is an affiliate link.
What you need
A VPS (about $9 a month in the example), a Telegram account, API access to at least one language model, and a few days of patient teaching.
