Use Hermes Agent to research a founder's product portfolio through Grok's X search, and run a 47-task backlog as one job
A creator used the Hermes Agent desktop app to research another indie founder's products using her existing Grok subscription instead of the X API, then handed it a backlog of browser-tab tasks to run unattended on a schedule.
Evidence: The author reports this. We have not checked it beyond reading the source.
The business problem
Researching what other founders ship and what gets attention means a lot of manual reading and scraping, and a pile of open tabs of follow-up tasks never gets finished.
What was tried
Install the Hermes Agent app, connect a Grok subscription so the agent can use Grok's native X search, and ask it to map a named founder's products and separate founder claims, user claims and jokes. Next, narrow a pile of 76 open tabs into 47 tasks, keep them in a status ledger, and set up a cron job so the agent works through the list on its own. Turn on write approval so the agent cannot silently rewrite hand-made skills.
What was reported (mixed)
The agent mapped 20 to 30 products, picked out five getting real attention, and flagged one viral post as satire. It used no X API credits, against roughly $1 a day she had spent on direct X API calls. It finished 15 of the 47 backlog tasks before she stopped the run.
Limitations
One author's account of her own runs, with no outputs to inspect. The author reports that the agent can mark the wrong result as done, that an enabled cron job does not prove the gateway is running, that chat history gives no clean job status, and that background skill learning can overwrite hand-written skills unless write approval is on. Only 15 of 47 tasks finished. Key setup prompts are behind a paywall, and the cost of the Grok or ChatGPT subscription is not stated.
What you need
The Hermes Agent desktop app, a Grok subscription for X search, and a willingness to check the agent's status ledger rather than trusting 'done'.
