Watch competitor pricing pages with Gemini extraction, a Sheets history and threshold-based Slack alerts
A Reddit builder links an n8n price-monitoring template that renders competitor pages with Decodo, extracts plans with Gemini and uses code to compare changes against stored history before alerting Slack.
Evidence: The source shows its work: steps, screenshots, code or data you can inspect.
The business problem
A SaaS founder needs to notice meaningful competitor pricing changes without repeatedly checking every page.
What was tried
Keep target URLs and prior plan JSON in Google Sheets. On a schedule, use Decodo with JavaScript rendering to fetch pricing-page HTML. Gemini 2.5 Flash extracts plan names, prices and features into JSON. A Code node compares matching plans against the previous run, computes percentage changes and handles free-to-paid transitions. Route changes above a configured threshold to Slack and shift the saved plan data for the next check. The template specifies Name, URL, Old Plans, Last Plans and Updated At columns.
What was reported (not reported)
The sources provide a monitoring design and setup instructions, not measured extraction accuracy, uptime, decisions improved or revenue results. We did not run the template.
Limitations
The Reddit claim that the system is self-healing is not established by tests. AI extraction and plan matching can still misread changes; changes in currency or billing period need interpretation. The linked template promotes a Decodo referral offer. Its assertions about reliability and free access were not independently verified.
What you need
n8n, Decodo and Gemini access, Google Sheets, Slack and accessible competitor pricing pages.
